Hi,
I have Lightroom 6.14 on a MacBook Air, macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. I tried to open it up the other day and it crashed and I've been unable to open it up. I receive this message: "The last time you opened Lightroom, it was unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to reopen its windows again." I tried to remove the lrcat lock file and it did not work. Just looking for advice to open Lightroom. Thanks, Cynthia

In a first step you should try to reset the Lightroom preferences.
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html
Backup your preferences prior to resetting the preferences:

If this doesn't help try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.
Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

If Lightroom doesn't start correctly the please see "Solution 2" in the document behind the second link.

Alex, Thanks for your suggestions. I used another method that worked well. I changed the date on my computer to 2018 and was able to reopen LR. I noticed that face recognition and I turned if off. I then closed down LR and changed the date on my compter back to the present. I was surprised that the face recognition function was on because I have never used it.
