Lightroom 6 to Classic CC conversion risks

I'm trying to think what are the risks and what will happen if I subscribe, and after a few months I decide to end the subscription:

-Classic CC does catalog conversion upon startup, making the library incompatible with LR6.

-When you take pictures and import them to Classic CC all the flagging and organizing will be saved to new library format.

-When you end subscription, what will happen to the software? Are you still able to browse the current library, but Import is disabled, or are you just locked out from the library altogether?

Here are the possible scenarios that keep me from moving to Classic CC:

-Adobe rises subscription price to 30€/month. All your edits between LR6 and now are in new lib format and you can't access it anymore.

-Adobe kills Classic CC project and removes your right to use the program. All your edits between LR6 and now are in new lib format and you can't access it anymore.

    Hi ReLe,

When a subscription ends, the Develop module is set disabled, so user can still export all the presets, images and the catalog itself outside the app. You may refer this discussion End to Creative Cloud subscription, what will happen to my Lightroom catalogue?

Here are the possible scenarios that keep me from moving to Classic CC: ..

Lightroom Classic is designed for users who need their images/edit/catalog on a local storage but would still like the functionality of syncing them across devices, so the app have limited connection to the Lightroom CC ecosystem unlike Lightroom CC which is a cloud based app.

Further to your other answers: the catalog upgrade process when you move to a new version, only happens into a new copy.

The prior catalog is left untouched and remains accessible using the older software - if that older version has been left installed.

To be clear, both catalogs - the prior one and the brand new one - will thereafter refer to (share in) all the same image files on disk, applying (until you change something, in one or the other context) equivalent adjustments, metadata and organisation onto those.

Of course, other competitor's software could do the same. I mean, if Adobe could get away with this, other competitors will decide they can get away with this as well.

Honestly, I think you are worried about nothing. Even if Adobe raises the subscription price to 30€/month (which I doubt will happen because they'd lose a ton of business), your edits can be exported from LR CC.

The idea of Adobe killing Classic is laughable, given the number of users and the amount of money they would lose. But again, all of your edits in LR Classic CC are available and you can export the photos with edits and then use some other software.

If you really think that Adobe is so evil that they would "kill Classic CC and remove your right to use the program", then don't use any Adobe software. The fact is, they have never done anything like that, software written 10 years ago by Adobe still works and you still have the right to use it.

Thanks for the replies. My main issue was the fear of losing the work you put into organizing and editing the photos if you end subscription. Of course it was given that you could forever use LR6 with the pre upgrade library copy and you of course have the raw images, but I was under impression, that I would be locked out upon ending subscription from the work I would have done with "LR7". Now this has been answered. It maybe should have been more clearly brought up right at start of the LR CC Classic marketing that what happen's when you unsubscribe.
