I create 1:1 previews of all my photos, and for a long time now I've been having an issue where, when I select a bunch of newly edited images and I tell Lightroom to make 1:1 previews of all of them, it will inevitably get stuck in some image and never finish generating the preview. Which causes the preview generation process to stall forever (until it's killed).
From what I've been able to tell, this always seems to happen with the last image in the selected group.
The only solution I've found so far has been to restart Lightroom, after which I can tell it to once again make previews for the selected images and this time it will finish.
This happens both when I use LR in my desktop and in my laptop. I don't think LR has been able to finish generating previews one single time on either machine in the last year (if not longer) without needing a restart first.
I'm running Lightroom Classic 14.1.1, but this has been happening for several of the last versions of LR.
I have tried deleting all my previews and re-generating them, both from the menu inside LR and also by manually deleting the cache files. The problem persisted after recreating the previews.
Does anyone know of a better workaround than having to close and restart LR, which is quite time consuming? Is anywone experiencing the same issue and do we know if a fix is being worked on?
