Lightroom and Microsoft OneDrive

Until today I used Microsoft OneDrive on my Windows PC. All my pictures were stored in a library within that and Lightroom pointed at the folders within that. It all worked well for me but I wanted to remove my reliance on OneDrive so I;

- stopped syncing,

- broke the connection between my PC and OneDrive

- removed the OneDrive app

- and then, within Lightroom, moved all my picture folders to a new drive.

Lightroom is working as I expect, except for one minor irritation that I cannot fathom.

Each time I restart Lightroom a new (empty) folder is created - D:\OneDrive\Documents\Adobe\dynamiclinkmediaserver\23.5

I delete it but it reappears when I restart Lightroom. Why?

Your Documents folder was changed to a new location when you set up OneDrive, but it was not changed back. LR always creates the file you saw, and it places it in your Documents folder. You can change this back to the usual default location by the following steps:

  1. Right click Documents in an Explorer Window
  2. Choose "Properties"
  3. Choose the "Location" tab
  4. Enter a folder name or "Find Target..." - the default location is C:\Users\username\Documents. See my configuration as shown below in the screen shot (note that I *am* using OneDrive so the path is different from the default):
