I get this massage when I open Lightroom classic, the file is there and when I choose to use different catalog it works fine, I save this in my presest options. next time I open LRC it does the same. I had this problem before and found a soloution, but can't remember where I found it of how to solve it.

any ideas?

Windows 11 up to date as is LRC.

All sorted now. Deleted the Lightroom Settings.agprefs file to remove all preferences and start again. Worked.

Check in the Lightroom Classic preferences that the catalog to open is set to 'most recent catalog'. Most likely it is currently set to a specific catalog, but that one does not exist anymore. For example because the catalog you open manually each time is not actually on your G: drive but on another drive, and you never noticed that this is the reason why Lightroom Classic keeps telling you it can't find it.

I set it to open the named file from the location it is in, but it doesn't remember the info once closed. Someone told me once which file to delete from the directory to clear this error, wish I had made a note of which file it was.

Try 'most recent catalog', because that is what this catalog is after you opened it manually last time.

Find the Lightroom Classic catalog file in your Windows Explorer (name ends with .LRCAT) and double-click on it to open it.

So once you open the file by double-clicking on it, set the option in Preferences to always open this catalog.
