Lightroom causing laptops to crash

I had a macbook air  and while using lightroom it crashed,  recovery mode didn't work so bought an acer aspire v black edition and its barely 2 weeks old . I was in lightroom and it shut down now the keyboard light just blinks. I read that it means the BIOS is corrupted.I'm on the creative cloud photography plan. I thought maybe the mac just couldnt handle it. I don't get whats wrong. Would it be my account somehow corrupted so lightroom killed both my laptops?

First unplug it if it's plugged into the AC power and then pull the battery if it is removable. If you can take the battery out then press and hold down the power on button for 5-10 seconds.

Put the battery back in and plug it in and power it up.

I doubt the BIOS is corrupted. There are safe guards built into the system for that not to happen.

More than likely what you are experiencing is the system overheated. Make sure you have proper ventilation and you should not use it on a soft surface. Soft surfaces collect and retain the heat from the system and stop proper air flow through the vents.

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't use my laptop on soft surfaces.I had my laptop repaired they did like a factory reset and put in windows 10. Also downloaded and ran other apos to see if it was working fine. I got it back, finished downloading lightroom and so I clicked on the adobe notification saying the download is finished and it crashed again. Can my adobe account somehow have a virus from creative cloud?

Agreeing with the other poster. This is either a hardware malfunction or a bad video driver. You need to reinstall the video driver, and run diagnostics on all hardware. Lightroom (and any software) cannot make the entire computer crash.

    Absolutely CORRECT!
