Question

Lightroom Classic 13.0.1 not syncing

Lightroom Classic 13.0.1

MacOS Sonoma Version 14

Lightroom Sync has stopped working and is stuck in a loop trying to sync 272 photos but openning up preferences the Sync Activity window is blank, most of the time. Sometimes it will show activity with files with errors, metadata etc. I have noted some of these and tried removing the offending files and when that didn't work the collection they were in but they still come up as an error, when the Sync Activity window works.

Any help appreciated

I have had a similar problems since upgrading to Sonoma.

Sonoma 14.1.2

Lightroom Classic 13.0.2

This was a clean install of Sonoma on a Imac 2020 27 with 64gb memory.

LR either shows either a) all files syncd (tick in green circle in cloud icon) which they aren't as there a number of new files in the cloud that haven't been downloaded or b) it shows 639 files not synced with no information in the preferences panel.

Tried rebuilding sync data.  Even that doesn't work since upgrading to LR 13.0.2.

I am at a loss as to what to do next.....

Any ideas appreciated.

Thank you.

It seems, LR Classic can run into issues with the database file used for synching - I had the same probem, rebuilding sync data didn't work either.  In the Mac console application I noticed repeating error message: "Bad sqlite return code: 21. Info: bad parameter or other API misuse"

For me following approach solved the issue:

  • Quit LR Classic
  • Find the Lightroom catalog file that causes the issues - in same folder there is a file name [your catalog filename] Sync.lrdata
  • Rename or move the file with ...Sync... in it's name to a different location (just for back up)
  • Start LR Classic - if necessary start syncing manually (via the cloud-menu in the upper right hand corner)
  • Wait... on my Intel-iMac it took several hours and the number of photos synchronized oscillated weirdly

I'm currently having the same issue. Also tried rebuilding sync data. I've also noticed manual noise reduction does not apply on low light photos when exporting to jpg. Tried adobe support, but one agent made my issue worse and the next one just told me to use denoise ai. I process hundreds of photos at a time so that is not acceptable since it is extremely slow.

I'm having same problem with syncing. Have you managed to sort it or find an answer?

thanks

Please try to recreate syncing data. Hold down the Alt key while being in the Synchronizing tab. That reveals a button to reset the data.

Hi thank you. I did try that "Rebuild Sync Data", left it running over night (6-7 hours) but didn't seem to be doing anything. There is no pregress idicator, just says "Rebuilding Sync Data" when I push the Option key on a Mac. How long should it typically take?

Tried again with "Rebuild Sync Data" and this time it did start. Resummed syncing and it started working through all my collections, must have for around 36 hours (over several sessions, shutdown inbetween) but then got into a loop of uploading files starting at a high number of say 100 and working its way down to zero and going up to another high number and uploading again. I looked at sync activity and could see that each time it was uploading to a different colllection. This has now stopped I now have it showing 674 trying to sync. This number is increasing as I do more editing, so going nowhere 😞
