Question

Lightroom Classic 13.0 running REALLY slow on M1 Max with 64GB RAM.

I'm running a Macbook Pro 16" M1 Max (24 core GPU) with 64GB RAM.

After updating to Lightroom Classic 13.0 - it's running REALLY slow - pasting settings from "Previous" for example, the pop-up window says "Estimated time: 1.0 seconds" but it actually takes between 2-5 seconds.

Hovering over develop presets takes in excess of 10 seconds to change the preview of the main image.

Moving between images in the filmstrip has become tediously slow...

The last build of 12.x ran much faster...

Hopefully it's something that'll be fixed in an update - is it running slow for anyone else?

What version of MacOS? I have the same computer (except 32 GB RAM) running MacOS Ventura 13.6 and Lightroom Classic 13.0 and I do not see this at all. Lightroom does not even say anything about an estimated time when I do 'Paste Settings from Previous', because it is almost instantaneous. Same for hovering presets, which is also very fast (only adaptive presets take a little more time, but that is to be expected).

@Eric11000z Lens Blur needs some time to generate the AI-based depth map, so that is to be expected.

Yup. Same. 13 is Easily the slowest release I've ever tried in my MacBook Pro M1 Max. The lens blur feature is nearly unusable taking 5-6 seconds to render. Develop module editing is slower than ever. Sad...sad...sad

I'm having the same issue. LR is running so slowly it's not usable.

Have you tried closing LrC, then restarting?

Apparently their may be a install oddity with LrC, where some AI bits get installed during a second install (i.e. at a restart) (would expect a pop up stating that however)

I have, but no difference.

I'll try downgrading and upgrading again tomorrow and see if a reinstall fixes it.
