Lightroom Classic 13.3?

I was expecting Lightroom Classic 13.3 to be released earlier this week. Still no launch. Is this because next launch to be a big one, perhaps 14.0? When is the launch date anyway?

It is now over three months since last update. This is very unusual. Why the delay?

Was there any public announcement that an update was coming on a specific date?

Have they committed to a specific release interval? I am not aware of that.

If something is late (again, not sure that there is), what is true of any software company is that it is probably because they don’t think it’s ready to release in its current state. But of course, there doesn’t seem to be any public announcement that we should be expecting anything.

It seems like what drives sooner release dates is when there are new camera/lens releases, feature updates, and bug fixes that are more urgently needed. When there is less going on that requires an update, releases are less often.

Also, you speculated about a version 14.0 in your original post. Recently there has been a regular interval for major upgrade releases for Lightroom and most other Adobe apps: Every autumn, announced at the annual Adobe MAX conference. We’re still half a year away from that.

Frankly, I was expecting a bigger update, after such å long time since last update, but I guess thei found some bugs i the process.

While point releases are often a Tuesday around the middle of even-numbered months, Adobe never publicly promised that cadence. LR updates happen when they happen. It might be next week, it might be a few weeks from now. Also, when 13.3 does happen there's no guarantees it has anything besides bug fixes and camera/lens updates. Sometimes single point releases have new features, sometimes they do not.

Major releases are annual and coincide with Adobe MAX, or at least that's been the trend for a number of years now.
