Installed v 13 yesterday. After installation, I launched. On my first mouse click, LrC crashed. Relaunched with same result. I've uninstalled and reinstalled v 12. What now?

"DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 (30.0.14.7444)"

That's a nine-year-old graphics processor, and Nvidia no longer provides updated drivers for it. You have the latest driver, which is two years old.

Try manually disabling LR's use of the graphics processor:

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
