Lightroom Classic 9.1 Grid problem

Hello,

i have a problem in the grid view of my Lightroom Classic. The grid does not corresponds to the number of files actually in the folder.

If i see a folder with several files and then go to a foldr with only two or three files, i still see the images of the former folder in the space that should be empty.

Seems something related to a graphic card or some corrupted files of lightroom.

Can someone help me?

Correct answer Simone Pompei

seems that disabling the graphical acceleration it's fixed.

But i wonder why it behave like that.

This has nothing to do with showing the photos in subfolders.

This is solved just disabling the graphic acceleration and re-enabling it. I don't know why but doesn't matter at this time.

"I don't believe it is a preference file problem. The preference file has nothing to do with the displaying of images on your screen."

The GPU knows nothing about images in subfolders and when to display them. A corrupted Preferences can cause many different types of unexplained behavior. This could inlude enabling 'Show photos in subfolders' even when it's not checked. I agree it makes sense to try updating the grahics driver using the latest version available at the manufacturer's website (AMD, Intel, Nvidia). If the issue persists with 'Use Graphics Processor' set to 'Auto' and 'Show photos in subfolders' unchecked after the driver update I suggest trying the LR Preferences reset.

Right if you read the first sentence of my first reply you will see I brought that up. But then the OP said the Count of images to the right of a folder does not match the number of images displayed on the screen. More images On Screen than the number displayed in the Folders section of the left hand panel.

If you have the option selected to Show photos in subfolder then the count on a parent folder will be for both the number of images in that parentt folder and in all the subfolders under it. If you have sub sub folder it will included those also and display them on screen.

If you move down one folder, to the first subfolder the count will be for that folder and any sub folders under that subfolder.

So it didn't sound like that either.

"seems that disabling the graphical acceleration it's fixed."

From your decription I wouldn't expect disabling the GPU would have corrected the issue. This may in fact indicate a corrupted Preferences file. Follow the instructions at the below link to reset your LR Prefrences file. I suggest moving or copying the current Preferences file to your desktop so you can restore it if of no help. See if that corrects the issue with 'Use Graphics Processor' set to 'Auto.'

well, i enabled again the graphic card acceleration and seems that the problem is not present anymore.

I feel like i could have done it weeks ago instead of waiting a fix.

If it will come back i'll try the preferences file fix, but i am confident that it is solved.

Thank you for your help.

I don't believe it is a preference file problem. The preference file has nothing to do with the displaying of images on your screen.

It sounds like a Graphics system problem and disabling the LR Classic GPU option lightens the load on the graphic card.

I would als check with the graphic card manufacture to see if you have the newest driver installed.

Sounds like you have 'Show photos in subfolders' checked. Try unchecking it.

Are there Subfolders under the one you are viewing.

Please post a screen shot of what you are seeing. Post the FULL LR program window. If you like you can omit the right hand side panel but included the left hand panel with the Folders and Collections sections expanded and all other sections closed.

We don't know what you are seeing with out a screen shot.

I have Never had this happen to me.
