Lightroom Classic automatically applies changed to photos once I click Develop

Every time I import photos then click develop Lightroom will apply changes to each photo. Usually kills the highlights, adjusts temperature, and a couple other things. I've searched on adobe community and can not find anything that solves the problem. Shooting RAW on Sony a7riii.

Sounds like you apply a camera default that does this (preferences - presets), or you apply a develop preset on import.
