Someone else had this last week too. The lines are probably just showing the edges of the file. Does it have transparency?

In fact, the lines show the edges of the file in relation to the frame; the transparency changes as the size of the file approaches that of the frame and disappears when the size remains the same. But I don't need this help, it rather bothers me.

Strange enough, the black lines suddenly disappeared again today.

Odd. Does clicking on the page and clicking on the grey border around the page toggle them on and off? I was trying to recreate the behaviour.

And from there if you click on the area around the layout, does it go?

I did think there was a way, but its been a while. Meanwhile, I've tested this:
If you use an auto layout with Photo Text on, you can use the overview to select all the pages with photos. From there you can go to Photo Text in the Text panel and change from Custom Text to Caption or Title etc. Make sure it's only photo pages.

If you select Caption or Title, and have a caption or title entered in the Metadata panel in Library, it should show.
I've only done schoolboy French and evening class Spanish, so my German extends only to ordering a beer I'm afraid.

It doesn't seem to work, the automatic layout just puts in a placeholder which I can change then in the menu on the right - with Indesign it would work, but I don't feel like it!
My English is moderate, but I help myself with 'https://www.deepl.com/translator' -
in Prague you can order a beer with a nod!

It definitely works here. Let me load up some forum appropriate images for a video.

The image isn't loading for me. Are you aware that there's also an image embed that has the image show up in the message. A lot of people here won't click on attachments.
As to what text is shown, I assume you know you can use any information available in the Text Template editor via the Edit... option in the Photo Text.

I can't translate the panel, but it looks like that is literally 'Caption' based on my default Metadata panel. And this is what my previous instructions spoke about.
You select all the images that have Photo Text in the template and change it to Caption in the Text panel, and they will all update to whatever you've got as the caption.

The question is: how can I select all Phototext fields together
- it doesn't work with ⌘-A

You can only select cells that have Photo Text applied. So it may be that Command A is the start and you command click to remove the ones without Photo Text.

It is the combination: Alt-⌘-A

Perhaps @frankw78750162 is asking about a method to Edit the Photo Text with a Text Preset- Select [Edit] at the base of the Photo Text menu-
.
Then design the Text in the Text Template Editor-
This Preset will show under the Book Photo (in the Text box) as-

I've mentioned that you can do that already @Rob_Cullen, thank you for adding more detail to it though. I think what @frankw78750162 wanted was for the Auto Layout to include his preferred text option within the Auto Layout template, so no further action was required after pressing the button. I agree that would be nice, but as we've found, it's only a few more steps to get to that.
