Lightroom Classic Catalog cannot open because another application has it open

In previous posts this message has been addressed: "The Lightroom catalog named “Lightroom Catalog-v10-v11” cannot be opened because another application already has it opened." I have gone through the steps and moved the .lock file to the trash and relaunched LR. I emptied the trash and there is no new .lock file in the folder. I'm still getting the same message. Suggestions? Thx.

And, do you have multiple Catalogs?  Is it possible that the one you are trying to open is not the one where you removed the .LOCK file?

Did you try restarting the computer and then verifying the .lock file is  still missing from the catalog folder?

Thank you. That was indeed the case.... it was pointing toward an older catalogue.

Sounds to me like you removed the wrong .lock file. You want to find the one that is specifically in the same folder as the catalog you want to open. (You could also use your operating system's search feature to find all .lock files and delete them all).
