lightroom classic CC freezes on startup on Mac Mojave during 2 minutes

When I start LR it freezes after about 10 seconds and the spinning wheel appears.  I have to  wait for 2 minutes before the ball disapears and  I can start working . After that all works fine.

Does anybody know why this happens ?  It looks like it is searching something... I do not use the cloud and

maybe it is searching for files in the clout ?

Thanks

I do not know if this is possible, but on your reply, that you marked as correct, does an option to unmark as correct show up? Members often sort on unanswered.

see (ref 1), note that updating LrC is included. Also see (ref 2) for some history on LrC updates/upgrades.

3.I don't like the prescription way Adobe uses to distribute their programs. I bought Lightroom as a stand alone version and I do not want to pay every month for very minor upgrades I don't need or use. I don't like the way the moneymachine Adobe works. I will update and pay for it when I want to, not the way they oblige me to make monthly donations !

Those two bits of info/reply do not match up. From the above, I see:

Lightroom Classic-versie: 7.2 [ 1156743 ]
Licentie: Creative Cloud

v7.2 is subscription. So you must be paying for an Adobe Plan, most likely the Photography Plan.

  1. Did your problem get resolved?
  2. Any reason your MACOS is still Mojave (10.14.6),  Is system requirements for newer MACOS beyond your computers age?
  3. Same question for LrC version, yikes v7.2? , current is v10.4

(ref 1)  macOS Catalina is compatible with these computers

(ref 2)  macOS Big Sur - Technical Specifications

(ref 3)  Lightroom Classic system requirements (October 2020 release (version 10.0) and later)

1.Problem still exists !

2.Many people I know do NOT want to upgrade their Mojave as a lot of programs do not work anymore. Often these are programs we like to keep using.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.
