Lightroom Classic CC Target collection

I have just upgraded to LR classic CC. When I try to add multiple photos to a collection, it only adds the first one. I have tried selecting all the photos I need and adding them, or one at a time, and either way it only ever adds the first photo. When I click on individual photo, it tells me on the filmstrip that it is in the collection, but when I click on the collection, there is only ever one photo there. Help!

    I finally got it to add to a collection by putting them in a Quick Collection, selecting all the photos, then creating a new Collection, and adding all the selected photos.

    Are you adding from the Grid, or the Filmstrip? Usually Lightroom only allows multiple items to be added from the Grid.

    I tried one at a time from the filmstrip, and also multiple photos from the grid. Both only resulted in the first photo I selected being added to the collection.
