Lightroom Classic connection to its catalogue

I've been using my Lightroom and its Catalogue for many years without incident until I accidentally sent all of my files to the Apple Cloud and then retrieved them to my local laptop. In the process, my Lightroom Classic "can't find" its more recent catalogue, and I can't figure out how to get them together again, and would appreciate some detailed guidance on how to do so. Thanks!

In the process, my Lightroom Classic "can't find" its more recent catalogue

Did you look in the Apple Cloud for this catalog file?

Use the Mac Finder to find all files on all disks whose name ends with .LRCAT (might be lower case). One of those found is your catalog file, double-click on each one found to open it in LrC until you find the catalog you want.

If none of the above is successful, restore a recent backup of your catalog file.

Use Finder to locate the catalog, and double click on it.
