Lightroom Classic continually crashing

I am having really serious issues with the program crashing and not saving any of my edits to the image it crashes on since the last update and I cannot figure out how to fix it or to get in touch with anyone to figure this out. I really need to get this fixed so that I can get back to work and deliver my edits on time.

Is there a crash report when Lightroom crashes? Please submit the crash reports to us: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html

 

What troubleshooting steps have you tried?  Besides Lightroom crashing, check the Processes in the Task Manager (Windows) or the Act

Is there a crash report when Lightroom crashes? Please submit the crash reports to us: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/submit-crash-reports.html

 

What troubleshooting steps have you tried?  Besides Lightroom crashing, check the Processes in the Task Manager (Windows) or the Activity Monitor (macOS) for unexpected read/write operations.

To begin troubleshooting, test some variables like:

  • Unplug any external peripherals & use wired input devices.
  • Unplug external drives.
  • Temporarily, unplug extra displays & only keep one active at a time.

I'm having the same problem for the past month. There is never a crash report.

Windows event viewer gives the following:

Thanks for sharing the event log. It points to ntdll.dll crashing at your computer.

If you've got crash reporter pop-up, submit the crash reports to us. Have you tried the above-mentioned suggestion? Do you notice a pattern in the crash behavior?

In my post, I clearly said there is no crash report from Adobe.

There is no pattern except that I can guarentee Lightroom will just stop running in less that 30 minutes, EVERY TIME I USE IT.
Re-install does not help. Disabling graphics acceleration does not help.

So, that GPU driver, v537.58, release on the 4th of October, 2023. Why have you not considered updating it to the current v546.01?, released first of November?

 

Also,

If you run just one monitor, does LrC behave? Some are having major problems with 2 monitors.

that dll appears to be a Windows OS file. Is something wrong with the OS? Have you searched the Internet for that issue?

I had a very similar problem. Every few minutes, Lightroom would close without warning, and it didn’t generate an error report either. The system logs referenced errors related to ntdll.dll. I reinstalled NVIDIA drivers, optimized the catalog, changed network settings, disabled the firewall on the NAS, and tried various Lightroom preference settings—without any result. Eventually, I created a new catalog and imported just a few dozen photos, and it turned out that Lightroom became stable. I concluded that the problem was related to how Lightroom interacts with the catalog. My catalog contains over 100K photos. I checked the size of my catalog, and it turned out that the file with the image previews was over 350 GB.

I deleted the Lightroom Catalog Previews.lrdata file. Upon the next launch of Lightroom, the catalog was automatically rebuilt. The issue with Lightroom restarts completely disappeared. It seems that Lightroom has trouble handling very large catalogs with previews.
