2. Under what circumstances does import crash?

Is this when you try to import from an SD card? What if the SD card is not installed and you try to import from a hard drive?

1. Please post your system information as Lightroom Classic reports it. Launch Lightroom Classic, Click on Help, Then on System Info, then Copy. Paste that into a reply.

Helps to show posts in date/time order, improves visibility (as not hidden in a reply to a reply), and is easier to use

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about Lightroom crashing on import, have you tried turning off the GPU option from Lightroom's preferences? Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

Also, please let us know where are you importing the images from External drive or Internal?

Have you tried unplugging all external devices from the computer and then try importing images?

Regards,
Sahil
