Lightroom Classic crashing since ~1 week on Windows 7

Greetings from Germany everyone!

It is my first time using the support community and unfortunately I was not able to find a similar error in the forums yet. Every time that I open Lightroom Classic or Photoshop a blank window appears where I can only exit via the top right button. Unfortunately the app just closes and I am unable to do any editing. Problem appearing both within Lightroom Classic & Photoshop. Is there anything to fix this issue except upgrading to a newer windows system? Everything worked fine until a week ago.

1. App Version: Adobe Lightroom Classic

2. Platform: Windows 7 home premium, Service Pack 1

3. Steps to reproduce: Open LrC/Ps, close blank window, app closes after 2-3 seconds

4. Being able to use either app

hmm, a blank pop over screen showing up, not showing what it is for, etc. Sounds familiar. Have you considered resetting the preference file?

Which version of the Adobe apps do you use?

What has been changed on your system before the error occur?

it's possible that there are a compatibility problem with the graphic driver or so.

The newer CC apps aren't fully compatible with Windows 7. The next thindg is that Win 7 is very old and there are no more patches, security updates and so on for years. You should never go online with such a system!!!  I recommend urgently to update your system to Windows 10 or better 11.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz Photo

The current version of Lightroom Classic requires Win 10 20H2 or later.
