I am using Lightroom Classic for a while and after latest Lightroom Update if I select Auto or Custom in Edit>Preferences>Use graphic processor then Lightroom will freeze or crash a few second after I open it or start edit photos.
My system is:
Mainbaord: Asus Tuf Gaming 650m-plus
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7700X
RAM 64GB
Windows 11 64X
Drivers and Windows are all up to dates
I have done steps below:
1- Restarted machine
2- Tried to update all drivers include GPU, mainbaord and Windows
3- Disabled the built in GPU (It get worse and start lagging from begining and then crash)
4- Reinstalled Lightroom
5- Reinstalled Lightroom on another partition
6- Increased the cache to 100GB
7- Use smart preview instead of originals for image editing ticked and unticked both the same
8- Generate preview in parallel ticked and unticked both the same
9- By disabling the "Use graphic processor" then it will work and I think it's using the built in GPU
So basically the summary is like this:
- Selecting main GPU : crashing
- Selecting internal GPU: working but not as fast as using main GPU
- Disable internal GPU in Device management and force using main GPU: very slow and lagging when edit photos
Any idea or help would be appriciated

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post.

The usual reasons for issues such as you describe are down to outdated or broken GPU drivers. I recommend that you install the latest driver for your GPU. This can be found at https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-24-3-1
Also, make sure that you renable the GPU to 'Auto'

Have a look at the suggestions at https://www.reddit.com/r/radeon/comments/1ad69lg/lightroom_classic_crashing_on_the_latest_driver/
Most of the AMD features that folk in above suggest disabling relate to gaming.

Thanks for the swift response. 🙂
With me would be a little bit difficult. I am NVIDIA 😉
However I use both the RTX 4090 & and the 14900k GPUs... will start by disabling the CPUs GPU.
And see from there where we are going.

The above issue, and the oddity where AMD is treating LrC as a game, applys to AMD, not NVIDIA. Now in the NVIDIA application GeForce Experience, a section exist for applying settings for various applications, mostly games, and they do include LrC in that (separately) , that is to say, modify various settings in the GPU as to support LrC, but NVIDIA gets it correct, they treat LrC separately from a Game. And they did nor foul up. It appears AMD attempted to provide a similar bit of tweaking but someone at AMD fouled up in the LrC treatment.
As for your GPU issues, as you have NVIDIA product(s), I would recommend that you post your own Discussion.
P.S. Do you mean that you have two different model GPU's in your computer? If so, in your own Discussion, point that out. That can be a problem in LrC.
