Sure, its obvious now. You are causing the quality to be reduced by asking Lightroom to downsize the image. Try UNchecking "Resize to Fit".

So what is "wrong" with the exported image? If you are creating an image that small compared to a full-sized image it will probably appear to be a little grainy if you are looking at it and comparing it size wise. But it might still display well on the web.

I am having a similar issue when editing a number of low light photos that do have noise on them.

Preview images look great in Develop, when exported look awful (or some do).

I have edited and applied noise reduction as appropriate on each image, but when I export them the JPGs have a weird pixely noise on them and look totally different.

Even at 100% quality with no resizing and no export sharpening added I get this on a number of images.

Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong.  I don't use LR as regularly as I used to so I tend to find it works slightly differently from last time when I do return to edit a batch.

This is a different problem, and you should put it in its own thread. Please, when you do this, show a screen capture of the image and a screen capture of the exported image and a screen capture of the Export dialog box. DO NOT ADD TO THIS THREAD, START A NEW THREAD.

Is there a reason you are exporting an image with the long edge only having that many pixels? How large are you trying to view the image after it is exported?

Hi there,

Would you mind checking your export settings in Lightroom Classic to see the Quality under File Settings and the Resolution of the image under Image Sizing?

Regards,

Nikunj

The export options in Lightroom Classic are much more extensive than they are in Lightroom. Personally, I use Lightroom Classic much more than I do Lightroom, and when I export and choose my options carefully I find that the exported images match the original images very well. Would you care to post a screenshot of your export options?

Yes, you probably chose the wrong export options from Lightroom Classic. What options did you choose?

Or maybe the editing in Lightroom Classic is different than the editing in Lightroom, causing the quality difference.
