Question

Lightroom Classic is slow to start up

LRC takes about a minute to start up / open which I click on the LRC icon. It used to start very quickly but suddenly just slowed down around the time I reached 100,000 images.  Once it is running it responds normally.  I have around 105,000 images catalogued. The catalogue is set to optimize on exit. I have no plugins enabled except for Topaz Photo AI.

I've had happen last week as well as very slow imports and one suggestion I found was to Reset your Preferences. This won't affect your Presets, though your Lightroom layout will go back to default and a few hints and tips will reappear, like you've opened Lightroom for the first time.

The "Manually" section will tell you where the Preferences files are if you want to back them up.

You have a small amount of RAM, and a very underpowered GPU - it's no surprise that Lr is starting to bog down, really.

Updating your GPU driver might help - a bit - but really, if you want faster, you're likely to need a more powerful machine.

Well I think it is a Bug, I have it too Since V13.
My system:
-Ryzen 7 5800x
- 64GB RAM DDR4 3600

- Videocard RX6650X 8GB DDR6 VRAM
- SSD Samsung 980 pro with heatsink
Everythink is going link lightning, except Lightroom. It takes over a minute to be ready after startup.
Photoshop starts in 6 seconds for instance.

Well, to be more friendly to apparently a sensitive sole.

Please post your own Discussion, Your computer specifications are clearly different from the OP of this post. Your situation can be (probably is) very different. Under sourced computer specs can have a large effect on LrC, while having little effect on PS. That is probably the issue for the OP. On the other hand a high end spec computer can have issues with hardware, with drivers, with other software (anti virus is a typical suspect) that bring LrC down to its knees.

So please, post your own Discussion, And this would be a Discussion, not a Bug. When you do, please include your System Information as the OP did (via LrC /Help/System Info/).
