Lightroom Classic JPEG Corruption

The  JPEG file (BCFC_Original) does not render correctly in my copy of Lightroom Classic.  The BCFC_LR_Export file shows what Lightroom displays on my MacBook when opening this file in the Develop Module after importing the original JPEG.  It is almost like viewing the image through a thin keyhole...  Is this problem unique to my set-up, i.e. is there something I can change to address this?

Lightroom version 13.2

MacOS Sonoma 14.4.1

MacBook Pro (Intel)

When I import BCFC_Original.jpg into my LR 13.2, I see the same tall and narrow crop, and Develop indicates it results from a crop being applied to the photo:

The metadata indicates an app other than LR saved the crop in the metadata, likely Photomechanic 6:

[XMP] XMP Toolkit : XMP Core 5.6.0
[XMP] PM Version : PM6
[XMP] Has Settings : False
[XMP] Already Applied : False
[XMP] Has Crop : True
[XMP] Crop Left : 0.429233
[XMP] Crop Top : 0.329607
[XMP] Crop Right : 0.431696
[XMP] Crop Bottom : 0.568176
[XMP] Crop Angle : 0.000000
[XMP] Crop Constrain To Warp : 0

When LR saves metadata into a file, it records these two lines, which are missing from your .jpg:

[XMP] XMP Toolkit : Adobe XMP Core 7.0
[XMP] History Software Agent : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic 13.2 (Macintosh)

What happens when you open the file in Photoshop?

Hi Sean, the image displays fine in Photoshop when I take the image from LR to PS, i.e. edit in PS from LR  So, it seems to be a Lightroom issue...
