Some time ago I posted my issue but am unable to find the post, so here goes again:

All of a sudden (I may have updated a graphics card or run Norton anti virus) my windows 11 pc takes 8 minutes to launch Lightroom Classic (v13.4). Once loaded I can edit away, no problems.

1) I uninstalled LRC from Crative cloud & reinstalled

2) I uninstalled LRC and Photoshop and reinstalled starting with PS

3)I dissable GOU once in LRC

4) I created a new empty catolog on my local drive

5) installed previous version of LRC

None of the above helped. Can someone please offer a suggest route to fix other than gortmating my drive. Below my system info:

Try to go back to LR 13.3 or 13.3.1 and check if it's launch faster.

What you also can try is to creqate a temporarly new user account with Admin rights or an new Administrator and check if Lightroom starts normal under this account.

Windows 11.

Ok, do you ever restart that computer, as opposed to shutdown?

Windows has a default setting (Fast Startup) that causes a shutdown to be different from a restart in that the shutdown does not clear much in CACHE, etc. as such, some crud may be in the way. Especially stuff in the KERNEL. A restart clears that crud

HI. Yes I restart 10 times a day because LRC eventually freezes the entire PC.

Have you try ro disable Norton AV an then start LR?

Do you have done a clean reinstallation by running the Adobe Cleaner Tool after deinstalling alls Adobe apps?

HI. Yes, I uninstalled Norton and I ran Adobe Cleaner Tool. Still slow in launching. I'm beginning to wonder if it isn't a Windows issue.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post.

Try disabling your plug-ins to see if that helps or fixes the problem.

Often, this is caused by a plug-in of some sort. Try disabling your plug-ins to see if that helps or fixes the problem.
