Lightroom Classic Maxes Out Hard Drive

Lightroom Desktop has been pretty stable and fast enough for me for the past 12-15 months but during the last month Lightroom has been maxing out my main system disc - performance graph in Task Manager hits 100%, everything grinds to halt, Lightoom more often than not crashes.

Anyone know what I can do to fix (or at least diagnose) the problem

Windows 11
2TB NVMe system drive with apps and Lightroom Catalogue 1TB free space
4 TB NVME Data SSD - 2.5TB free space
1 year Old

Lightoom Classic up to date (14.3.1)
Windows up to date

Same thing happened to me today. I went to see if I was running out of hard drive space.  Nope, plenty of space. It was so bad that I thought there was maybe a memory leak in one of the programs that wasn't releasing RAM when it was done, and rebooted the whole computer.  Didn't fix it.  I closed Chrome while using it. Didn't fix it.  I even exported a subset of photos from my catalog into a smaller catalog and it didn't fix it.  There were multiple freezes, black screens and page redraws. Basically, my computer was unusable and it made me think that I suddently needed a new computer despite having a relatively new computer with an i7 and 16GB ram and 2 TB nvme SSD. It's only Lightroom, and it's only recently.  The only thing that's different today than other days is I used the Lens Blur feature for the first time.

@VABS45971236

this is a different problem than the one originally discussed in this thread. Please start a new thread and describe your problem, and state clearly whether you are using Lightroom or Lightroom Classic. People will be happy to help you in the new thread.

What actions in LrC seem to cause this? Are other programs running during this time?

Please post in a reply a screenshot of your LrC /Preferences/Performance/

@Fuzzbass2000: "Help - System Info can you point me to where this is so I can post a screen grab"

Do the LR menu command Help > System Info and copy/paste (not a screenshot) the entire contents here so we can see exactly which versions of hardware and software LR thinks you're running and important LR options that are set.

I have never seen that. My system is similar to yours, except I use hard drives for data. I use Lightroom Desktop a lot for doing photo sharing web pages. I also use a separate 2TB NVME drive solely for my Lightroom Classic catalog and previews.

Please post your system info: Help - System Info

Also, post the full task manager screen shot of when this is happening.
