Question

Lightroom Classic - newer photos do not show GPS data anymore - macOS, Fuji X

Hi,

I am currently using LrC, mostly just for its built-in map feature and some other stuff, to sort through my photos from lots of different cameras.

I am using the latest LrC version 13.4 on macOS 14.5 and have photos from Fuji X cameras - X-S10, X-S20 and X-H2S.

All photos have location metadata via GeoTag Photos Pro (iOS and macOS) and most photos have their location data recognized by LrC.

But today I noticed, that newer photos since May do not show any location data in LrC.

Here are screenshots of macOS Preview's Inspector and LrC's metadata viewer:

Any pointers?

Seems the problem may be with GeoTag Photos Pro. Your Finder previews also show a difference. The images where Lightroom Classic recognizes the GPS data have a Map Datum and speed reference, while the images that Lightroom Classic does not recognize don't.

Thanks for pointing this out.

I seem to have changed the location update intervall to 10 minutes from 2 minutes before and that must have triggered this.

I just did some tests with changing the intervall and it helped, though when I look at the .gpx file in a text editor, there seems to have been location updates every two minutes. Strange.

Anyway, LrC does seem to recognize the location data again. I guess I could use MetaImage to adjust the location data. Or not. Hmmm.

Well, I could use the .gpx file within LrC using this method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymv-ok_ajPc

Thanks for answering and keeping me looking.
