lightroom classic - no longer available as a download software?

I previously purchased a lightroom license. This was a download on my computer. Upgraded my computer and I can't take this over to the new one. Is a monthly subscription the only way to do this now? I'm not using my camera that often to justify the cost.

Lightroom Classic IS a downloadable software, but it's only available as a monthly subscription. Details here:

If you can't justify the cost, there are other low cost or no-cost options, but everything has a learning curve. Google "low cost photo editing".

Hi, well I bought it once, when I was using it more often. I'd like to be able to access it because I have put some time in trying to understand it. I like to play around with photos I take. I'm not particularly good but as a hobby its something I enjoy. As I'd paid for the software previously I was hoping I could continue using it. As I haven't been able to transfer this, and the only option now seems a monthly subscription which will exceed what I paid originally a few years back within a year, then I'm not sure if this is the correct use. I'm just wondering why something I bought previously is now not available. Do you have an answer to that?

The only Lightroom Classic is available by subscription, but contrary to your title, you can download it (in fact that's the only way to obtain it).

Why can't you take your old Lightroom to the new computer? Please be specific.

OK - sorry I'm no expert, just like to mess around with pictures once in a while - so please don't knock the lack of detail on what the lightroom is called.

Answer to the second part - I have no idea why I can't transfer the software. Hence asking here.
