Question

Lightroom Classic "An error occurred when attempting to change modules." on MacOS Monterey

Dear Adobe Community,

After the latest update of Lightroom Classic (version 12.0), I was happy that the program could at least boot up. In fact, it hasn't been able to load for a few versions, and I was worried I would have lost about 8 years of work.

However, the "import" button has now disappeared and I get the "An error occurred when attempting to change modules." dialog when trying to visit the "Develop" module.

I've tried:

• reinstalling (both Creative Cloud and Lightroom Classic)

• rebooting

• creating a new catalog

• resetting preferences

• disabling GPU usage

to no avail

Here are my specifics:

Lightroom Classic version: 12.0

MacOS monterey version: 12.6

Mac model: early 2015 13-inch MacBook Pro

Does anyone have further suggestions?

On a side note, I was not able to reach support on this matter from anywhere on the site.

The "Contact us" button under "Help and support" does nothing. I can't see any options to chat or call anymore. I was able to scrape the US Adobe phone support number from elsewhere, and the support person was kind enough to try and help me. However, after an hour of trying and hacking, he also bailed without follow-up.

This is not a good experience to say the least, considering I've an old customer and I pay 30€/month for this.

Hey GoldingD,

I tried that as well, to no avail – I should have put that in the list of things I tried, as well.
