Lightroom Classic says always uploading photos (sync)

Lightroom Classic says that it is always uploading 9 photos. (It used to say 3 photos.) Clicking on the little cloud in the upper right corner of the Lightroom Classic window shows that message about uploading 9 photos. It's been that way for years and across versions of Lightroom Classic. It continues in Release 14.4 on Windows.

The Preferences Sync page says there is no sync activities. Rebuilding the sync data does not resolve the problem. @Sameer K, in another thread, suggested looking at Lightroom on the web and checking Deleted files, but there are no problem files there. Optimizing the catalog does not resolve the problem.

This is not a major problem, just an annoyance. Lightroom still shuts down fine.

The same files are appearing in the log as stuck. Could you remove them from the respective Sync collections and let Lightroom sync for a while?

In the Diagnostic Logs, you can open the LrSync_Log file and scroll down to 2. B.

.

In the web of text, you'll find the file names for the files I've pointed out before.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

@Sameer K Hurray! Success. I had to remove all four images from each of the collections/slideshows they were in and then restart Lightroom to get it show that everything is synced. Then I added them each back to their collections (they got added back to the slideshows automatically) and put them in their proper sequence in each collection. All seems good.

Thanks for your help.

Hey, @. Thanks for starting a new thread and tagging me directly. I'll help you figure this out.

We can use the diagnostic report to learn more about this. In Lightroom Classic, go to Preferences > Lightroom Sync Tab > Press and hold the ALT/OPT Key to generate a Diagnostic report. Upload the report to any cloud file-sharing service, share the link here, or send it to me directly from my profile.

Per my previous suggestion, you can try emptying the Deleted section on Lightroom Web. If it has been a few years, these images might also be from that period. Have you tried stopping the sync for the specific albums from the time frame, or selecting all images in those collections and creating duplicates for those collections?

It will help us fix this or pinpoint the specific images or collections that have the issue. If it is too much work, let's start with the diagnostic logs. We might find the specific images that are stuck.

P.S. - Lightroom Classic 14.5 is available via the Creative Cloud desktop app.

Thanks!

@9574460 K, I tried your suggestions using Lightroom Web. There are only two
files there and they both have valid, near term expiration dates. One says
48 days left and the other 53 days left. (I don't know how those expiration
periods are set. Didn't know there was one.)

Here is a link to the Diagnostics. If you have trouble accessing it, let me
know and I'll do it another way.

Thanks for sharing the updates and the logs. Here are a few of the file names that are either missing their originals or have a metadata conflict.

1 - Turtle and fish-Copy 1 edited.jpg
2 - Swallow-tailed Gull Copy 1 edited.jpg

3 - Sunfish jumping-Copy 1 edited.jpg
4 - Denise Buster-2.jpg

You can try editing these images, relinking them if they're missing, or removing them from the Sync collection. After you apply any of these changes, pause Lightroom Classic Sync, restart Lightroom Classic & resume Sync again.

Let Lightroom run for a while and check if anything changes. If nothing changes after a while, generate another log and share it with me.

Thanks!
