Hej there
Since today my Lightroom Classic seems to be stuck with the operation of exporting a picture from raw into png without any error or anything. The status bar is simply stuck at basically done.
Yesterday I have done the exact same operation without any issues within a few seconds but today I noticed the images not popping up where I expected them to be and saw a few still running operations in Lightroom that for whatever reason would finish.
Over the day I tried some stuff like rebooting Lightroom, rebooting the PC, different files, validating the original raw files are still where they should be, etc. but each time I try to export its just not happening.
Do you guys have any idea what could help in that case?
I managed to solve the issue today. Something must have been corrupt or broken with the library I had been using.
So to fix the issue I created a new library, importet everything again and now it is working fine again like nothing ever happened before
Thank you very much for your great support!

When you click on, or perhaps mouse over those operations, what are they?
Is any Address Lookup running?
Is any Face Detection running?
Is any sync to/from the cloud running?
Is their any photo merge, HDR, or PANO, running?

I just checked and you are on to something.
So Address Lookup was put on pause but continuing that doesnt have an impact it seems like but face detection seems to be open for a nice 5 digit number.
I'll let that running for the next few hours I guess and check tomorrow again if there is some news on the still running 1 export I keep on trying and trying each time to see if it works

I am afraid processing the face detections didnt help the stuck export.
Now there are no ongoing operations or activities other then the export of above said single picture with no update on that even though the PC was running all night long.

Hey @bjrn_0498,
Thanks for the update. I appreciate you checking on the background operations, as suggested by GoldingD—great troubleshooting so far.
Since the stuck export persists even after face detection and other background tasks have cleared, let’s try a few more steps:
Try exporting to a different format (like JPEG or TIFF) to see if the issue is specific to PNG export.
Check the export location permissions — Ensure Lightroom has full access to the folder you’re exporting to (especially if it’s an external drive or synced cloud folder).
Disable GPU acceleration: Go to Edit > Preferences > Performance, then uncheck “Use Graphics Processor,” restart Lightroom Classic, and try exporting again.
Try using the default export preset (without custom settings or plugins) to rule out preset-specific issues.
Check for stuck temp files: Navigate to C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Local\Temp and clear any old or stuck temporary files related to Lightroom. Then retry the export
If none of these steps help, let me know your current Lightroom Classic version and OS version, and whether this happens across all catalogs or just one. Also, could you share any sample images and screenshots of the edit settings so I can test them? That’ll help us narrow things down further.
Thanks again for your patience — we’ll figure this out together!
Best,
Anshul Saini

Hej @Anshul_Saini
I tried all of the above as well as re-installing Lightroom as such but unfortunatelly the issue remains to be insolved and export is stick stuck.
Currently I am using Lightroom Classic V 14.2 with Camera Raw V 17.2
As OS I am using Windows 11 Pro with Version 24H2 and Build 26100.3775
I dont know what you mean with if this issue happens all catalogs or just one? I only have one main catalogue and no others. However that catalogue I did setup newly 2 weeks ago. It is rather "fresh" but keep in mind I was exporting without any issues for a few days before.
A sample image I couldnt attach as it doesnt let me attach CR2 files but please find one via the link below:

I did not change anything on the edit settings for that image.

Hi @björn_0498,
Thanks so much for the detailed follow-up and for sharing the sample image. I appreciate the effort you’ve put into troubleshooting this!
I went ahead and tested the image you provided, and I was able to successfully export it in both PNG and JPG formats without any issues. That suggests the issue may not be with the image file itself.
To help us narrow this down further:
1. Would you mind sharing a screenshot of the edits you’ve made to the photo in Develop mode? That way, I can try to replicate your exact adjustments and test again with those settings.
2. Also, can you confirm where you’re trying to save the exported file? Is it on your local desktop, an external drive, or a synced folder (like OneDrive or Google Drive)? Sometimes, permission or sync-related issues at the destination folder can silently block the export process.
Thanks again for sticking with us — I know this has been frustrating, but we’ll keep digging until we find the cause.
Best regards,
Anshul Saini

As a followup and as an addition to inquiry's by other members. Can you post a screenshot, probably in Library Module, with that export running. Note that posting a full screenshot is important. What shows up (or fails to show up) in Navigation panel, the Histogram panel, the filmstrip, the top panel (including the cloud sync button) the grid or loupe view, and the Folders panel, may give a clue.

Also, and this may or may not not help, can you bring up the export dialog, select the options as you see fit, as you normally do, and take a screenshot of that. If you have issues showing the entire dialog, then perhaps make sure the Export Location, File Naming, File Settings, are fully visible, not contracted, and that other options are at least visible but contracted, and left panel visable.
