Here's how Lightroom crashes, if you'd like to see it. Sometimes the crash even affects the desktop and results in a black screen; icons return when moving the mouse. In this case, you have to completely reboot the laptop.
This has been happening since around May 2025 – always when running AI noise reduction, often when the AI replaces parts of a photo.
I sent several dozen crash reports to the developers, but received no feedback, so I stopped.
This happens on an Asus with a 285H processor and an Arc140. All Intel drivers are, of course, up-to-date and updated immediately by the Intel utility. Lightroom also updated as soon as it appeared in Creative Cloud Desktop. I played with enabling/disabling/changing the NPU usage in Lightroom, the amount of allocated video memory in the BIOS, in the Intel drivers, in the Asus utility, etc. - I've probably touched every possible switch in Windows and the BIOS. The problem isn't specific to the Asus; my colleague has the same issues with a new Lenovo and the same CPU and video chip.
I have to work on a practically identical laptop, but with a previous-generation Intel CPU without a NPU and an Arc 140, and there are no problems on it, except for the slow photo processing speed on a five-year-old CPU.
I won't provide logs because there's no point – for almost a year of this problem, they're probably new every day, and no one at Adobe is addressing this.
I apologize for the video from my phone, as a Lightroom crash also kills the built-in Windows screen recorder.

Hi @DAY_MEN , we’re sorry about the trouble!

Looking at the video you’ve shared, we don’t see the application crashing. We do see behaving weirdly but that can because of multiple reasons.

Also, you’ve mentioned that you’ve sent multiple crash reports, but I’m not able to find any using the email ID you’ve used to sign in to the Community. I’ve you’ve used a different ID you submit the crash reports, please click on my name in the Community, then click on Send Message to send me a direct message including the email ID used.

Last, please go to the Help menu in Lightroom Classic, then System Info, and copy the text. You can share the info with us by either pasting it as a reply here or in a text file and sharing the file with us.

Thanks,

Nikunj Muglani

If you don't call it a “crash”, then give me a word you use to describe a program's state where it becomes unusable and requires a reboot, or even the entire computer, because Lightroom has dragged an unpredictable number of background processes and even USB drivers down with it.
Here's a video of LR reporting the error -

. I have a lot of these; I sent them to your developers in the fall, along with all the logs, configuration files, etc. Unfortunately, their enthusiasm quickly faded, and they disappeared from the radar.

Library Path: C:\Users\sebas\OneDrive\Imágenes\Lightroom\Lightroom Catalog.lrcat

The \OneDrive\ in that path for your catalog location indicates it is on your C drive in a user folder named /Imágenes/ and that the catalog is being automatically synced to your OneDrive folder on the Cloud over at Microsoft. This is primarily due to Microsoft pushing you towards a MS account instead of a local account, and setting certain default user folders as folders to sync to OneDrive.

This cab be problematic, at the least it can degrade LrC performance, and on a bad day, catalog corruption can occur. This is not an absolute statement. Many would not aggree with this.

Also, as it sounds like your LrC try's to open and then crashes, this may not be the issue.

You could however try one experiment. And I may have this a bit wrong, not at a PC to verify, but hold down on the ALT key, and double click on the LrC shortcut to start. You should be presented with a screen inquiring on what catalog to open, but select new catalog, and see what happens.

By the way, you may want to create a new folder for your Lrc catalog, one at root level, named something like /MyLightroom/ or whatever, as to avoid OneDrive.

.

Sorry for the lack of detail. The program is crashing almost every time I try to use some AI features like the new dust removal, denoise, the people identification or people mask applying, etc. Sometimes, happens again and again with the same image and action, sometimes works. First all the machine froze a title, the screens go black, and then all the computer is OK, but Lightroom remains with most of the UI in white.
I already updated windows and intel drivers.
The catalog path is the default one, so if that is an issue, you should fix that in the windows version.

There is no version 17 of C++ redistributables, but I installed the lasted available version. But doesn't work, neither moving the catalog to an exclusively local folder. I'm paying a subscription and don't being able to use the product with a brand-new laptop. This is outrageous.

In addition to what @F. McLion said, please tell us if Lightroom Classic is crashing but other things on the computer continues to work, or is it the entire computer is crashing.

What exactly do you mean with crash? Please share more details.
Crash on startup ... while doing what, using which tool .... Any messages appearing (exact word-by-word content), or a screen capture ...
