Lightroom Classic will not start

Attempting to open my catalog, I get no further than :

" Lightroom-Opening Catalog_ND_24_1.zip "

which appears centre near top of screen.

The same thing happens and exactly the same line appears when I click on any earlier back-up file.

I have restarted computer many times now and have uninstalled Adobe Creative Suite and reinstalled it with no change !

I recently had an issue with an AMD driver which has been updated to solve computer crashing issue (Windows 10 ). LR Classic intitially opened OK after that update but now will not open at all.

Any ideas appreciated.

Yes as I said, I know that. But I assure you, I extract the LRcat file from the zip file , click on it or any other older LRcat file I can find, and that exact same message appears. (It always says " Lightroom-Opening Catalog_ND_24_1.zip ", even if I try opening an LRcat file from 2 years ago with a different name)

Please try resetting preferences. https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

Try installing newer versions of this AMD driver.

Looks like you are attempting to open a backup. I say that because of the zip file type. If you want to open a LrC backup, then you need to un-zip it, and typically move the un-zip copy to some other hard drive and/or folder.

You can't open a .zip file. You have to unzip it first, then you should have a .LRCAT file when you unzip it, that should open proeprly.

thanks I know that, I have already opened the zip file and clicked on the .LRCAT file yet this is what happens every time

" Lightroom-Opening Catalog_ND_24_1.zip "

which appears centre near top of screen

This says you are trying to open a zip file.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
