Lightroom Classic won't open catalogue - Even after following Adobe's trouble-shooting

Hello everyone.

I'm having the "classic" problem with Lightroom classic that many others have had. LRC won't open a newly created catalogue.

Here's the background: I am working with someone to edit multiple photos. She copied all of her files to a Google Drive folder for me to download and continue working. I downloaded ALL of the catalogue files, tried opening the .lrcat file (with all of the other ones in the same folder) but keep getting that pesty error pop up.

I also tried the Adobe solution by opening the package of the lrcat-data file and deleting "CURRENT", then restarted LRC to no avail. Same error.

This has happened virtually every time before when I've downloaded someone else's files from GD.

What gives?

Please post in a reply a screenshot of the folder that catalog is in. As shown in Finder.

It's in a folder I created on my HD as part of a project. However, I then copied all of the catalogue files into the Pictures>Lightroom folder and tried opening the lrcat from there–still with no success.

That is not the answer to my request. looking for something like:

Mind you, the above example via Windows, MACOS Finder will look different.

Ok this is weird: I just tried opening the lrcat file again (to screenshoot the message for my partner to see) and suddenly now everything is working! LRC opened the file and I have it all. I don't understand, but I'm happy.

Thanks GoldingD for your willingness to help out!
