Lightroom Classic won't start

I am unable to start Lightroom Classic (Version 12.2.1 on Windows 10 Pro). It appears on the Task Manager, but not on the screen. I have tried the following, with no success (after closing the Lightroom process in Task Manager):

Opening LR by double clicking on a recently backed-up catalog

Opening LR holding down shift-alt, to disable preferences

Uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom

Using System Restore to restore my Windows system to how it was before this happened

Diabling real-time antivirus protection (Windows Defender) and Windows Firewall

I am able to open Lightroom on the same machine from a different user account

Does anybody have any more suggestions?

The problem seems to have righted itself. I store my photos on a network, and there was a temporary problem with accessing them. After a long wait following opening LR Classic (5-10m), I was prompted to enter a catalog name. After a few attempts, I used a backup catalog (created about 10 days ago). I had photos stored on the cloud that were created prior to this, so I didn't lose anything.

It appears that network problems can cause LR to appear to fail to open.

LR Classic is not opening on my Mac Studio. I have deleted preferneces, caches and whatever I can find. I reinstalled. INstalled back versions and reinstalled newest version. Moved a catalog to a new drive. I can't figure this out!

Any other ideas?

Thanks

Evidently, I can't edit my prior post. Uninstalled and reinstalled LRc and it still won't load. I opened a new user in Mac OS and I can launch. Even if I shift-option to create new prefernece files, no-go. Very upset and looking for help. Thanks

I am able to open Lightroom on the same machine from a different user account

See:

Troubleshoot unexpected behavior in specific user account | Adobe

Several members having account related issues with v12.2.1 lately, their are several posts.

  • For MACOS users the MAS solution #3 has been helpful
  • For Windows, # 4 has been helpful
  • And another member with Windows had a registry problem (perhaps #6)

but that is not absolute, so the other solutions in that link may or may not be what is happening.

If LR runs under a different user account it seems that the old Windows user profile has a fault.

Move all data and install all programs to the new user account and delete the old one.

No solution just adding my voice, I have posted on a few other threads as well.  Same issue, two nights in a row have had Adobe support trying to fix it.  Get to a point where they think they have a solution unfortuatly after they leave it starts all over again.  Next time i have them I will not let them go until I have restarted LrC several times.
