Question

Lightroom Classic

Hello,

I use Lightroom to process my images. Once those images are processed, I use an online photo-sharing company called Pixieset. The Pixieset gallery allows clients to add proof images to folders for editing. The Pixieset gallery also has a Lightroom plugin that allows you to copy the clients' fav list from Pixieset's website and find all of those images in Lightroom without having to search for them 1 by 1. See attached images. Well, as of late, something's changed. Before, Lightroom would rename edited files with the "Edit" suffix in the image name. Example: 154A2276_Edit.cr2. Now, Lightroom shows the image name without the "Edit" suffix. Example: 154A2276.cr2. In short, Lightroom exports with the "Edit " suffix, but won't allow you to search for images with the "Edit" suffix. I hope this makes sense. I'm sure it's something simple. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

'Edit' behind the original file name normally means this is an image that was sent from Lightroom to Photoshop, or some plugin. It would then come back as .tiff or .psd file, not anymore as a .cr2 raw file.

Hi Johan,

Thanks for responding. I do understand that. However, I've always used this method. It wasn't until recently that it changed.

Lightroom has not changed. Lightroom does not change the name of raw files all by itself, and it never did. Like I said, the word 'edit' is normally added to the names of files that are sent to an external editor, but these will not be .cr2 files anymore when they come back. Of course it is possible that you used an export preset where you exported 'as original' and then added that word. It is also possible that the plugin did that and that it has changed.

Thank you for your input.
