Lightroom Classic keep shutting down my iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch 2017.  The program first freezes, then after almost 25 sec it shuts down my iMac.  Use Ventura 13.7, have turned of the GPU, still shuts down. Have no external drive connected.

What is wrong? And how do I solve it? Fast.

Ok, I have a problem with my following reply. That being I cannot back it up with other postings. My reply may be absolutely wrong.

Something in the back  of my head sees that you have placed your catalog on a MACOS Desktop folder. A rather special folder with pro's and Cons as to using.

Somehow I think a changes in MACOS at some point limited rights and changing of rights in the Desktop.

You might try moving that catalog to an actual folder, Perhaps a folder you create. Or just for a test, you might try creating a new catalog in that new folder. And see what happens.

Thank you for your reply. I will see if that changes anything.

What is the version NUMBER of your Lightroom Classic? (We need the version NUMBER and not words like "latest" or "Up-to-date")

What is your exact make and model GPU and driver version NUMBER?

What action(s) in LrC seem to precede this crash? Please be specific.

I have lightroom classic 13.5.1 installed now.

not sure where I find the make and model GPU and version number. Let me attach a photo for you!

I open Lightroom, go to Develop, choose Filter: Rated and 4 stars. Go to the current photo I eant to edit, and go to Transform, and auto. Ggoing back up and want to crop the photo. Then it freezes and shut off my computer, and restarts.

Thank you!

First make sure you have the most current driver for your Radeon Pro 580.

If you have or install the most current driver and the problem doesn't go away, then I would run deep diagnostics on all of your hardware, as the cause is most likely that you have a hardware malfunction somewhere.

For some reason the program is now working. If the problem comes bak, I will try. Thank you.
