Lightroom crashes my iMac

Lightroom Classic keep shutting down my iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch 2017.  The program first freezes, then after almost 25 sec it shuts down my iMac.  Use Ventura 13.7, have turned of the GPU, still shuts down. Have no external drive connected.

What is wrong? And how do I solve it? Fast.

Ok, I have a problem with my following reply. That being I cannot back it up with other postings. My reply may be absolutely wrong.

Something in the back  of my head sees that you have placed your catalog on a MACOS Desktop folder. A rather special folder with pro's and Cons as to using.

Somehow I think a changes in MACOS at some point limited rights and changing of rights in the Desktop.

You might try moving that catalog to an actual folder, Perhaps a folder you create. Or just for a test, you might try creating a new catalog in that new folder. And see what happens.

Thank you for providing moving the catalog as potential work-around. It seems to work out at my iMac. So far no crashes anymore on latest LR Classic (13.5.1)  and latest Mac OS (15.0). BUT I had to move catalog to iMac´s systemdrive. All other locations for catalog did crash LR Classic AND iMac 27 5k Retina 2020. Mac Info here in screenshot. I did send the automatic crash reports to Adobe and Apple as well.

Hey, Apple released MacOS 15.0.1 LR Classic 13.5.1 immediatly crashed sadly. Reopen of LRc seems to work better now on my Intel iMac 2020 5k Retina setup. Automatic crash report is filed at Adobe incl. contact option. BTW Adobe mailed me an online questionaire about "my person", answered that and happy about more contact, if Adobe folks want to. Let´s dig into this in detail to get it fine on iMac 27 again. Optimistic for that.

No further crashes anymore so far. Ony the super inital one so far. But that one, did "only" crash LRc and not iMac. Seems def. a progress to me. Will work with it some days more and give you an update here. ++ Update 1 day later: no crashes anymore so far using MacOS 15.01. Will update again. I have several external drives attached. LR Classic catalog and App are on system drive. Will move catalog when it is really stable. ((Apple Final Cut Pro seems to have issues with AMD graphics card. Using denoise effect, screen preview is green.))

What is the version NUMBER of your Lightroom Classic? (We need the version NUMBER and not words like "latest" or "Up-to-date")

What is your exact make and model GPU and driver version NUMBER?

What action(s) in LrC seem to precede this crash? Please be specific.

I have lightroom classic 13.5.1 installed now.

not sure where I find the make and model GPU and version number. Let me attach a photo for you!

I open Lightroom, go to Develop, choose Filter: Rated and 4 stars. Go to the current photo I eant to edit, and go to Transform, and auto. Ggoing back up and want to crop the photo. Then it freezes and shut off my computer, and restarts.

Thank you!

In LrC, please go to Help->System Info and then copy the results as TEXT and not as a screen capture. Include the text as text (and not as a file attachment) in your reply.
