Lightroom doesn’t save my mask and other AI adjustments

Lightroom crashed a few days ago while importing photos. After that it started acting weird. It crashes constantly. I already reinstalled it. I went to a back-up catalog. All work for nothing. I started over with pictures from a shoot. Finally got the photo's in Lightroom. Started  working on them again, 2 problems: Lightroom keeps crashing although and secondly, when I do get some work done without it crashing, and I close Lightroom and back-up my catalog, it looses all AI and mask settings.
Anybody know what to do?

Regards

Hanne

Thank you for your help. My issue is solved. The problem was that after the crash not only my catalog file itself was corrupted, but also the lrcat-data file was. And this is not included in the back-ups. So when I went back to a back-up catalog file, but kept the lrcat-data file, the program kept using the corrupted data file for AI storing. I deleted the lrcat-data file. Lightroom stated it was missing, so I lost all my previous AI mask work in my catalog, but it created a new one so I could start over from scratch with a non corrupted lrcat-data file. And now everything works again. So this question is closed. Hope it can help other people who may encounter the same issue.

Good that you solved it, but strange that the .lrcat-data file was not in your catalog backup(s). It should be included.

when I do get some work done without it crashing, and I close Lightroom and back-up my catalog, it looses all AI and mask settings.

Example below from a test catalog I keep, obviously your catalog will differ.

Point is, access rights to the AI Masks data. In MS Windows File manager, bring up the folder your catalog is in, and look at the properties for the lrcat-data file. Select the Security tab, select Advanced.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut out as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs and it takes up vast amounts of scroll space making the reply less readable and less likely that others will bother with your post. Also large amounts of text in a post also render the Translate function inoperable...

Please give more details about the Lightroom version number and your OS. This post was moved to the 'Lightroom ecosystem', but I think you are using Lightroom Classic because you are talking about backing up the catalog. I moved it there, but we need to be sure what you are using before we can even begin to suggest a solution.

I  understand. The pic included shows the OS I'm working with. I have the latest version of Lightroom. I always update and I even reinstalled it trying to fix the problem. Inbox my GPU is not very strong. But this shouldn't cause these problems. It worked well for a few months.

'The latest version of Lightroom' means nothing. We still do not even know if that is Lightroom or Lightroom Classic. And we need to know the version number. You can find that in the Help menu under System info.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
