LightRoom Import stuck quarter-way

Hi there,

I'm importing a set of pictures from a specific year into LR Classic, from my external hard drive.  I'm trying to get organized.

For some reason, a quarter-way through, LightRoom has stopped importing.

It has been stuck at this point (See top left progress bar) for 30 min or so as I was looking for answers.

LR isn't pulling any more photos in.

I did perform my import by selecting the folder on the left and choosing a destination to the right.  Then clicked import.

At about this point it stopped.
Is there a way to 'kickstart' or restart the import process?

Note, I have specifically clicked on a folder that shows three pics (there are ~2500 imported thus far)

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Check the system settings relating to that external hard drive. You are looking for any hibernation possibility’s. Probably in the Power settings

hi there, - I did, usually when this happens, I simply unlock the hard drive and LR continues.  When this happens in that format, typically I can't access the drive.  In this case, however, I am able to access the drive (from finder), open files etc.

I have turned the sleep timer off too.

Would closing lightroom and opening again help?

    I appreciate the assistance!

I shutdown and started again.  Seems to have started the import where it began.

It may have been the drive timed out however, it seems odd as I was accessing files.

I'll see how it goes over night.
