Hi there,
My Lightroom keeps crashing, it will freeze after a task or two and then my laptop crashes. I have tried everything from this list https://shotkit.com/lightroom-keeps-crashing/ I have even formated my laptop. Please help! my laptop has no problem with anything else, only with lightroom and photoshop which I use every day for work.

Laptop crashing is the key here. This is either a bad driver or a hardware malfunction, as software such as Lightroom Classic cannot cause your computer to crash. You need to replace/re-install all of your drivers, and run diagnostics on all hardware, including the cooling system in your laptop (if there is one).

A common problem with laptops is overheating. Is your laptop hot or unusually warm just before this happens? Are the fans running?

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and found no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s? Microsoft’s? Apple’s?

Try resetting your Lightroom preferences:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html

Quit Lightroom Classic.
MacOS: Press and hold the Shift + Option keys.
Windows: Press and hold the Shift + Alt keys.
While holding down the keys, launch Lightroom Classic.
When asked, select "Yes".

Thanks for your suggestion, I did already try that twice and it still did not work.

Try logging into another account (you may need to make one), still crashing?
Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still crashing?
You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still crashing?
