Question

Lightroom on Mac and Windows synch with OneDrive

Hi,

I have been using Lightroom 5.0 on my Windows 10 Desktop and also on my Windows 10 laptop for a number of years.

I store all my photos in My Pictures folder which resides within OneDrive.

I download all photos to both my laptop and desktop so have local copies on both machines.  Both machines store the photos on my 😧 drive… so have exact same file directory structure on both machines.

And OneDrive keeps all the photos on the desktop and laptop in synch, and I can use Lightroom on both machines to access all the photos.

I have replaced my Windows Laptop with a Mac Book Pro.

Can anybody explain how I can continue to keep a local copy of all my photos on the Windows 10 Desktop, and the Mac Book Pro… and also use Lightroom to access photos on both machines?

I use OneDrive to synch all my photos between the Windows Desktop on the Mac Book Pro.

But have not installed Lightroom yet on the Mac Book Pro.

I hear that Macs use a different addressing system than Windows for the files.

So I am guessing that I can’t just simply install Lightroom Classic on both machines and use OneDrive to synch the photos… and use Lightroom to access these photos?

I would prefer not to have to use an external drive for photos, that would need to be transported around with the laptop.

Is there some recommended solution to this?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

As you are using Lightroom and not Lightroom Classic, you are in the wrong forum. You want to post this in the Lightroom (Ecosystem) forum.
