Lightroom picture stops reacting to input

Hello community,
I have an issue with Lightroom Classic 10 on Windows 10. Every few minutes the program stops responding to my input (i.e. nothing happens when dragging sliders). I can only see that the little picture at the top left corner is updating, but not the main picture in the middle, which you are currently developing. The only thing that helps is to close down the program and start it again. Sometimes it is preceded by a short flash and/or freeze.

This could potentially be a hardware (GPU?) issue on my computer, because I also have frequent freezes and crashes when playing heavy games.

Any ideas?

Try turning off GPU in the Performance tab of Preferences. I'd also run a memory check as bad memory will cause crashes.

You should consider updating to Lightroom Classic 12, and check for the newest graphics drivers from your card maker.

An update for future reference. Turning off the GPU acceleration in the settings helped, but also changing to a new graphics card solved the issue, so that I could leave the GPU acceleration on. It appears the graphics card was defect.

Thank you for the reply. Do you mean Edit > Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor : Off?

As for memtest, do you mean Windows Memory Diagnostic, A.K.A mdsched.exe?

I update my GPU drivers whenever there is an update available.

I will try these things and get back with my findings.

Yes to the first.

I'm on Mac, so far from a windows expert, but any app that gives a memory test should work.
