Lightroom Presets not showing

New Here ,
May 01, 2025 May 01, 2025

Hi everyone,

I recently downloaded some presets and imported them into Lightroom (using Windows), but they’re not appearing in the dropdown menu. When I try to import them again, I get a message saying “All items were already imported.”

An Adobe assistant had a go at fixing the issue, but had to go away to look into it further. I thought I’d check in here to see if anyone else has run into the same problem and managed to sort it out. I believe he already tried opening new images, reinstalling LRC, and a few other things.

Thanks in advance!

Hey, @Charlotte_Chandler7800. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out. I've moved your post to Lightroom Classic Discussions.

What format are the Presets? Sometimes, profiles (DCP) and presets (XMP) are combined in the same package.

Pick a RAW image, go to the Profile Browser (4 square icon) in the Develop module, and check if the Profiles appear there.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hi Sameer,

Thanks for your reply.

All of the presets are xmp, and unfortunately they do not show in the develop module, however I can see the default ones that came with Lightroom.

@Sameer K  - apologies I forgot to tag you. The presets are in my imported settings in CameraRaw also.

Thanks.

How do you import the presets?  The easiest way is to go in the Develop mode to "Presets" (1) in the left pane and then click to "Import Preset..." (2). In the dialog taht was shown you can choose the appripriate file.

You can also goto "Manage Pesets" and check if the appropriate presets are enabled, for example the "User Presets".

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

I have imported them through the develop tab but they do not show in "Manage Presets". If I go to CameraRaw and then Imported Settings, the files are in there. But I just can't see them in actual Lightroom.
