lightroom shut down when importing pictures

Hi,

I been using Lightroom 5.7.1 64bit for the last few years and this morning when I tried to import photos and vids it's keep shuting down on me, same if I use "CRTL+SHIFT+I". I uninstalled the program and installed again and still the same problem, tried customer support for the last 3 hours, which was a waste of time, no help and no solution, just pushing the ball and telling me to go to the forums and people on the forum will help me, so anybody able to help with this problem? Thank you.

    Sometimes an odd problem can occur in areas where Lightroom provides both a menu option, like you are trying, and a direct button. Import is one of these that rarely has such an issue. While in the library module, notice the import bottom lower left corner. Does using that button to bring up the import window behave differently?

    if it does, that is a symptom.

    You right, import button in the left lower corner did work, while the menu option still doesn't work, anyway I can now import the pictures and carry on with my work. Thank you very much for you help and for the solution provided.

    Please describe what happens in a lot more detail. Please state exactly where the photos and videos are located before you import them. If there is an error message, please quote the exact unedited word-for-word error message.

    Also, please state your exact operating system version NUMBER (do not use words like "latest" or "up-to-date", we need the version NUMBER).

    Hi,

    Thanks for the swift response, what exactly happens is:

    I go to the Lightroom, in the left top corner I clik on "file" tab, from the "file" I'm choosing the option "Import Photos and Video..." and as soon as I click that option entire Lightroom will shut down completely without any error message, if I reopen Lightroom again and try to choose that option it will shut down again, and so on. I tried to "Ctrl+Sift+I" and it does exactly the same it will shut down the program completely. The photo files I'm trying to upload are on my PC hard drive, but I don't think it makes any difference, as Lightroom is shutting down before I get to choose where from the files should be uploaded. I also uninstalled the program and installed again from scratch and problem still persist. The lightroom version I got is 5.7.1 64 bit. My operating system version is Windows 10 Pro. If you need any other info, please let me know.

    Are there other devices attached to the computer, such as cell phones or tablets (like an iPad) or track pen?
