Ligtroom frozes when I import from an external SD card

When I insert SD card via reader and hit Import photos and videos Lightroom frozes and is not responding. in the left corner it says Loading data sets. This used to work without any problem in the past but now it is annoying to the point I am considering of canceling the subscitpion.

When manualy copy the folder to the disk and import then it works ok (it is not coping but adding the folder though).

I have the latest Lightroom classic version and everything else is up to date. My laptop is Alienware m17 R5 AMD, Windows 11 Home.

Hmm, that Lost.Dir folder in your SD card. Using google on that leads me to ask, is that folder created when the SD card has a problem??

Do you have another SD card, can you look at it and see if it has that Lost.Dir folder? (perhaps format it and see)

hmm, many of the search results via google point to smartphones. Is this a camera or a phone, perhaps an Android device?

Yes, I have tried different camera with different SD card. Previous picture was from DJI mini 3 pro and below picture is from Sony a7iv, and the symptoms are the same. I tried this on two computers with two Lightrooms two different windows and it is the same (with two different card readers too). I do not know what else can I do.

This may be something that is specific to your camera and what folders it creates when formatting the SD card. And something other members do not see in their rigs. But I think I should ask, if all the folders are normal created folders during in camera format.

The Panorama, and the Lost.Dir folders come to mind.

What camera?

An oddity in my experience, could be simply a different camera, different folders. But makes me suspect an issue with the card.

Is "Loading data sets" the exact words? If not, please provide the exact words. Please include screen captures by using the "Insert Photos" icon and not via file attachment.

Ok, I uploaded the picture the way you asked and the message is "Loading dates...". Sorry for confusion.

I cannot click on anything as Lightroom is frozen when this view apppears.

Two ideas:

Reset preference file (move it, don't delete it, so if it doesn't work you can restore it) https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/
Try starting a brand new catalog and see if Import works
