LR Classic CC 8.2: Develop Copy/Paste Settings Greyed Out Until Restart

Hey All,

Quite often, I'm finding that the copy/paste options in the development module to be greyed out until I close and restart Lightroom.  I usually see this after import of photos, culling and moving photos to a subfolder, and editing.  Never saw this when I was using version 6.02 but started up when I "upgraded" to Classic CC.  Is this a common issue?  Any fixes?  I'm getting around it by shutting down and restarting Lightroom, but it's getting quite annoying.

Screen shot and Lightroom information pasted below...

Cheers!

Dan

Looking at the screen capture it shows that no edits have been applied to the image, so there is nothing to copy and paste. What happens if you make a change does the options now show?.

Good observation and suggestion. In my 8.2, when a photo has no settings, the Copy Settings command is still available, but perhaps the symptoms are related.

If you have specific preferences set up be sure to set them up again as resetting your Lr preferences will overwrite them.

Right, the Lightroom Queen article explains how to save/restore your original preferences.

Try resetting your preferences: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/ . Sprinkling that magic pixie dust often fixes things when LR's user interface goes south.

May be completely unrelated but you've presented your Lr info – can you confirm the version of your Creative Cloud Manager as well?

I'm currently on Creative Cloud 4.8.0.421 if that helps.

I'll try the Preference Reset shortly and see if that helps.  I'll need to research the backup of preferences before doing so as I have a bunch of edits to do, and I don't want to cause extra headaches at the moment.

Regarding the edits, there are  no edits on that pic as I  wanted to 'Paste Settings from Previous'.  The previous image does have edits.

I'll report back once I try the Preference Reset when I'm not crunched on time.  Thanks for the suggestions so far!
