LR Classic CC not exporting to PS as TIFF or PSD

Hive mind, for some reason, i am no longer able to "edit in photoshop cc 2019" from LR Classic as a TIFF or PSD file to PS CC. All my external file handling settings are set right now to TIFF, but when I select "edit in..." (R click, drop down menu, or ctrl+E) from either the develop or library module the file only opens in PS CC as RAW. I have installed all latest adobe updates, updated computer OS, and reset the settings in both LR and PS to no effect.

What you're seeing is normal.

When you send a raw file to Photoshop for editing, it will be processed silently in the Camera Raw plugin, and then open in Photoshop as a generic RGB image with no particular file type. But Photoshop displays the original (raw) file extension, which can be confusing,

The image will become a tiff once you save it, and will appear in Lightroom.

Don’t worry about it. There is nothing wrong with your system. A file does not open in Photoshop in a certain file format. File formats are only relevant when you save to disk. The window may still show the raw extension when the image opens in Photoshop, but when you choose ‘Save’ the file will be saved in the format you specified.

Hi lassmanac

That shouldn't be happening as you're able to use the "Edit in Photoshop" feature in Lightroom Classic, could you please let us know the exact version of Photoshop and operating system you're working on?(Like Photoshop 20.0.5 and Lightroom Classic 8.3.1 on Mac OS 10.14.5)

I'd recommend that you take a look at the steps mentioned in this article 'Edit In Photoshop' command missing and let us know if that helps?

Thanks,

Akash

I'm using LR Classic 8.3.1, Camera RAW 11.3, PS CC 20.0.5, and Windows 10 v1903
