Lr Classic CC video not importing/ preview unavailable

I've recently built a new PC and all is working as it should, but I can't import video (mov, mp4, etc.) files into my lightroom catalog.

I'm running Lr Classic CC version 7.2 on Windows 10.0.16299 and I've tried removing Lr, using CC cleaner tool, reinstalling and still have not had any luck.

I've also tried with new catalog as well from different drives.

I've purged my video cache and reset preferences.

Neither copy nor add is working.

What am I doing wrong please?

Thanks

    Thank you for your email.

I have worked out that it is my Sophos firewall causing the problem with the Dynamic Link Server.

I’ve opened a lan connection to the adobe sites described in this info from Sophis but this has not helped with the Dynamic Link Server.

Web Gateway blocks Adobe Creative Cloud installation - Sophos Community

Any advice you can provide would be very welcome. Thank you.

    I have found the issue.

The Adobe QT32 Server.exe application was blcoked by the firewall. The moment I added it to the Firewall settings it has started to allow me to import video files.

The location of the application is here for any other sole loosing sleep on this:

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic CC\Helpers\DynamicLinkMediaServer\dynamiclinkmediaserver\1.0\32

    Hi noodleJam2,

Sorry that you're unable to preview the files while importing videos in Lightroom Classic CC 7.2.

Have you tried importing the videos even when the previews are unavailable? Do you get any error message?

Is this an issue with selected videos or video formats? Have you tried importing those videos to other apps?

    Thanks,

    Akash

    thank you for your reply.

I have tried importing when previews are unavailable

    ans it does not work.

There is a white pop-up which tells me files haven’t been imported and lists the files.

I have tried many types of video files. All yield the same reaction.

The files work fine in Premiere & Resolve.

As I’ve noted, I have reinstalled Lr a few times but nothing seems to be working. It’s very strange.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the update noodleJam2, What is the destination of the import set to, when you choose "Copy" while importing?
If possible, could you please PM me a sample video so that we can try reproducing the issue?
