LR crashes when exporting batch of 400 photos

Community Beginner ,
Mar 05, 2019 Mar 05, 2019

Hi!

I have the following problem:

Every time I export a batch of 400 photos for a timelapse it crashes somewhere around the 50-60th photo.

I tried this:

- re-install LR (newest version)

- turned on/of GPU accelaration (no mater which one I use, LR does not use the GPU when exporting)

I don't know what else I can try and I cannot find any solutions online. Can someone help me out?

Please check your hardware. It could be that there's a temperature problem.

Axel is probably right. Make sure all your fans are working, and check for dust buildup inside the case and especially on/in the CPU heatsink.

Your words and title imply that Lightroom crashes, but do you really mean the entire computer crashes? Please clarify.

Heat buildup can be a problem when you export a lot of photos, but as far as I know, heat buildup caused by a malfunctioning cooling system will cause the computer to crash; it shouldn't cause LR to crash without the computer also crashing.

I tested the temperature and CPU goes up to 75/80 degrees Celsius (167 -176 Fahrenheit).

I am using a laptop that has been built 3 weeks ago. Dust cannot be a problem. I am checking the correct temperatures now at the manufacturer.

To answer your question, I did get different results every time

5x LR crashes and I can send crash rapport

2x LR freezes. (Had to shut down in Task Manager)

2X LR shuts down, no crash rapport

2x LR crashes, Windows 10 crashes a minute later (blue screen)

Do you have seen the error message on the blue screen? This could possibly be a reference to the cause.

Please check the Windows Log (Application log and System log) about the entries when Lightroom crashed

After all your comments I did some tests of my hardware. Memtest86 showed that there are problems with my RAM. Next step for me is to replace my RAM. Hopefully that fixes the problem.

Thanks for helping!
